Carpet repair services

Seven jobs, done the same way in every metro. Photos below are real repairs by network technicians.

Pet damage repair

Chewed corners, scratched doorways and dug-up thresholds are patched with matching carpet so the spot disappears.

The damaged section is cut out and a matching piece is taken from a closet, under a stair or a leftover remnant. It is seamed in with tape and heat, then blended so the pile direction matches.

Odor and staining from accidents are treated separately with an enzyme flush and extraction so the smell does not come back on humid days.

Carpet stretching

Ripples, waves and loose carpet are power-stretched tight and re-secured. No more trip hazards.

Loose carpet is lifted from the tack strip, power-stretched across the full width of the room with a lever stretcher, trimmed and re-hooked. Knee kickers alone do not hold.

Ripples usually come from heavy furniture dragging, humidity, or an original install that was never stretched. Done right, it stays flat for the life of the carpet.

Seam repair

Split, frayed or peaking seams are re-bonded with new seam tape so the line all but vanishes.

Peaking, splitting or frayed seams are opened, old adhesive removed, fresh seam tape set underneath and re-bonded with a seaming iron. The pile is then groomed across the line.

Catching a seam early matters. A one-foot split is a small job; a seam that has run the length of a hallway is a bigger one.

Burn and stain patching

Iron burns, candle scorches, bleach spots and permanent stains are cut out and replaced with a matched patch.

Iron burns, cigarette or candle scorches, bleach spots and permanent stains are handled the same way: cut out the spot, bond in a matched plug from a hidden area, blend the pile.

Light bleach spots on solid-color carpet can sometimes be re-dyed instead of patched.

Berber repair

Pulled loops and runs in Berber are re-woven or patched by technicians who know looped carpet.

Berber and other looped carpets unravel in runs when a loop is snagged. A technician who knows loop pile can re-lay the run or patch with the loop direction preserved so the repair disappears.

Pulled loops near doorways and under chairs are the most common call.

Water damage restretch

After a leak or flood the carpet is dried, the pad replaced where needed, and the carpet restretched and cleaned.

After a leak, appliance failure or flood the carpet is lifted, dried, the pad replaced where it was saturated, the subfloor treated, and the carpet restretched and cleaned.

Fast response matters more here than anywhere else. Carpet that is dried within a day or two is almost always saved.

Carpet cleaning

Truck-mounted hot water extraction finishes most repairs so the whole room matches.

Truck-mounted hot water extraction after a repair makes the whole room match and lifts the traffic lanes that made the old damage look worse than it was.

Cleaning is offered by technicians on the network as a finishing step, not as the main event.
